Is the Body of a Christian Different from that of a Non-Christian?

Sunday, June 7, 2026

As Christians, what advantage do we have in our bodies? What makes us different from a regular man who has not received Christ into his life?

Of course, there has to be an obvious difference between the life of a Christian and a non-Christian in all ramifications, in our spirits, in our minds, and in our bodies. So what is the difference for a Christian in our body? We know that immediately we give our hearts to Christ, there is a change of spirit.

Our dead spirits, the previous one we had, is supplanted. We receive a new life because the real man is in the spirit, and that is where the change is effected immediately. That corrupted spirit is supplanted. But what happens to the mind and the body? They remain the same. The only difference that would have occurred in the mind is the fact that the mind believes in Jesus Christ as the Lord, and it believes in Jesus as the Son of God.

So that information is the new variable in the mind, and that is what led to the spirit being changed. But the body essentially has no difference to it. But what do we gain? What is our advantage as Christians? Because this new life we have received has to have something to do with every part of our existence as human beings.

And we know that the full man has a spirit, he has a mind, and he lives in a body. What is the benefit to us as Christians in our bodies? It’s quite simple. Scripture says in Romans chapter eight, verse 11, that if the Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in us, it will quicken… That Spirit will quicken our mortal body.

That means it would revitalize our body. It will give life to our body. So the scripture recognizes the body that we have as mortal. That means a death-doomed body, a body that gravitates towards dying every day. And that is no specific fault of any particular human being. That is the fault of Adam and his disobedience.

The result of his disobedience is what cascaded to all humanity, where the man that God made, who was supposed to live eternally, died, and he began to gravitate towards death from the moment that he sinned. You know, as God has told him, if you eat of this, you will die. And that literally happened.

We can see that, reading the genealogy of the people in the scriptures, we see that Adam himself lived up to 930 years.

Methuselah lived 969 years. But as the human race progressed, the age began to decline. People started living for shorter years. And that is just the death effect. But this mortal body, the Spirit of God has said, can function as an immortal one. That means the kind of body that is not susceptible to sickness, to death, the way it would be for a natural man.

The Spirit of God in us energizes our bodies and gives us power over sickness. That is on one part. On another angle, when Jesus Christ died for our salvation, which allows our spirits to be changed and for us to have a new life, a life of eternity with God. Because man has always had eternal life, whether he’s a Christian or not.

So, what the location of eternity is, is what changes. Some are going to spend their eternity in hell, which is not the desire of God. And that is why it is open to every man to come to Christ and accept this salvation. Now, that same death and the payments that Jesus Christ made on the cross also gave us the power to live a divinely healthy life.

A life that is free of diseases, of sickness, of pain. Because Jesus Christ paid the sacrifice for death. He destroyed death. Jesus Christ took that punishment for the disobedience of Adam. He bore that punishment so that the consequences of that sin would cease in the life of man. The reason why there is sickness and disease is that man became corrupt.

Man sinned. And he is bearing the pain, he’s bearing the punishment for that action that Adam took. Before man sinned, there was no sickness. There was no… In fact, sickness is not something that exists on its own. It is just death in motion. Any kind of pain, any kind of fatigue, any kind of discomfort in the body is the body trying to die, trying to gravitate towards the consequence of Adam’s sin, which is death.

But sin shall no longer have dominion over you if you are now in Christ, according to Romans 6:14. So that is not only in the actions that we take, but also in not being controlled by sinful actions. It also means that the sin nature and its consequences, which are sickness, death, poverty, and lack, should not have a hold over you when you are now in Christ.

Because Romans 5:17 tells us that anyone who receives this gift of righteousness shall reign in life, will reign in life through Christ Jesus. So we are not to be boxed in a situation where an infirmity just jumps on us, and it begins to reign in our body. The scripture literally says that our bodies are the temple of God.

How can tuberculosis fasten itself on the body of God? How can a cancer fasten itself on the body where God lives, on the temple that belongs to God? That is impossible. When we literally see it that way, then we know that no sickness or disease should be tolerated in our body. Now, does it mean that all of these things won’t try to happen?

They will definitely try to happen, but they are illegal. They don’t have the permission. They don’t have the right to fasten themselves to us. But they are going to try because they know that many people are ignorant, and they will thrive on that ignorance.

It’s just like temptations. So the devil knows that a Christian has been made righteous and is sealed in righteousness and does not have the ability to sin in his spirit. But the devil will definitely bring temptations to him, and just see whether he’s going to succumb to the fleshly nature or he will succumb to the spirit.

Sickness and diseases are temptations to us for the devil to make us fall back to the consequence of sin, when he knows that we are actually above them; we are bigger than them.

So it is the duty of us as Christians to resist the devil, to resist sickness, and declare the righteousness of God, and declare our healing that Jesus Christ paid for. When He died, He bore all of our pains. According to the book of Isaiah 53:5, He bore all of our infirmities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Jesus Christ.

And Peter also made reference to that in 2 Peter 2:24. He, he talked about it that this pain that we are supposed to bear because of sin, Jesus Christ bore all of it. He paid the full price for it. So any time you feel sick, take it as a temptation that you can either resist or succumb to.

And they are not real because these things cannot exist in your spirit. All of these happen in the realm of the body. But the things that are not seen, they are more real than things that are seen. So when it comes to you as a feeling, you reject it. You take your position in Christ Jesus. You take your stance that you are the perfect man who has been made whole.

You are the life-giving one. You are not the one who was made alive. You are carrying the life of God in you. Out of your belly flows rivers of living water. The life of God is literally tabernacled in you, so sickness and disease have no place in you. Hallelujah. Thank you for listening to this message.
